Free Mode
Anchors take turns, one per round, and every gift in the round goes to the anchor on stage. Set a target score or turn on rank chase. Setup and live operation.
Free Mode is a one-anchor-per-round rotation: only one anchor is on stage each round, and every gift received during that round goes to them. You don't need to give anchors exclusive gifts. You can set a target score to judge each round, or just compare scores; with Rank chase on, each round's target is set automatically to what the anchor needs to catch the one ranked above.
Creating configs, preparing / starting / ending rounds, showing or hiding scores, interactive votes and the leaderboard widgets work the same in every mode; see Game Modes Overview and Shared Mode Settings.
Setup
On Team Setup, select a Free Mode config. Add the anchors who will go on stage under Anchor Config on the left (see Anchors and Gift Attribution), then set up the table below in the Workbench. While a round is in progress, the whole Gameplay Rules section is locked.
| Setting | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Countdown (min:sec) | Length of each round | New configs default to 2 minutes |
| Target Score Settings | Enter a score and turn the switch on; the round counts as reached once its score hits that number | Reaching the target doesn't end the round early; the countdown runs out as normal. Leave it off to just keep score |
| Rank chase | Changes each round's target to "catch the anchor above" | Needs Target Score Settings on first; otherwise the switch is greyed out with Turn on the target score first |
| When no one to catch | How to set the target when the anchor on stage is already first | Default target or Free scoring (no target this round); only shown when rank chase is on |
| Show title bar | The title bar at the top of the rank chase screen | Only shown when rank chase is on; can be changed during a round |
| Auto-pause at 0s | Pauses at 0 instead of settling the round | Gifts and votes keep counting; the round settles when you click End |
| Interactive Votes | Turns comments and likes into votes | See Shared Mode Settings |
How the rank chase target is set
The target is calculated from the anchor leaderboard scores (the same figures as Anchor Leaderboard on Home) at the moment you click Start, and stays fixed for the rest of the round:
- Everyone is on 0: the score entered in Target Score Settings is used.
- Someone is ahead of the anchor on stage: the target is the gap between them and the lowest-scoring anchor among those ahead. Drawing level counts as reached.
- The anchor on stage is already first (including tied for first): When no one to catch decides.
With rank chase on, the main widget switches to the rank chase screen, showing the current rank, the points needed to overtake, and promotion effects.
The rank chase screen doesn't show interactive votes. If interactive votes are on as well, votes still count; they just aren't visible on the main widget.
Running a live session
Everything happens in the operation area on Home:
- Pick the anchor: click an anchor under Anchor Selection to make them the next one on stage. You can't switch anchors mid-round. Between rounds, drag the cards to reorder them. The R number in a card's corner is how many rounds that anchor has played; the figure on the right is their Leaderboard score.
- Target mode: if the config has a target score, Target mode appears at the top of the operation area: Fixed target (you can edit the score right there) or Catch up to previous (the same switch as Rank chase). It is locked during a round.
- Results: the stage shows the countdown. When the round ends it shows
WINorLOSEif there is a target, orENDif there isn't; when the score goes past the target it showsover+and the extra points. After an auto-pause at zero, Resume is unavailable; click End to settle. - Hide nickname / avatar: the Nickname and Avatar toggles in the operation area header hide the anchor's nickname or avatar on the widget only; the operation area still shows them. In a narrow window these toggles fold into a Show menu.
- Eliminate: under Data Overview → Anchor Leaderboard, click Eliminate and that anchor can't be picked again for the rest of the session; Revive brings them back. The elimination list clears when a new session starts.
Data Overview also has Round Data (one round's Gift Data and User Leaderboard) and User Overall. Anchor Leaderboard lists total score, gift score, adjustments (plus interactive votes when they are on) and the gap to the anchor above. For the Adjust button, see Adjusting tickets during a stream.
Widgets
- Main widget: shows the on-stage anchor's nickname, avatar, countdown and this round's score bar, with the target score on the right when one is set. In the Widget Link: section of the Team Setup bottom bar, click Copy Link. Recommended size:
W660*H180+. - Leaderboard widget and user ranking: turn them on and copy their links under Widget Settings in the Workbench; see Shared Mode Settings.
To add a link to OBS, see Widgets and OBS.
Widget links contain an access credential. Only paste them into your own OBS or streaming software, and never share them publicly.
Notes
- The main widget's score bar fills by "round score ÷ target score" when a target is set, and by countdown progress when it isn't.
- With interactive votes on, this round's votes also count towards reaching the target, and all votes in the session count towards the anchor leaderboard score.
- Free Mode scores by the anchor on stage, so gifts can't be reassigned to another anchor.
