Connect Your Live Room
Add a TikTok live room, start and stop collection, read the bottom-bar status, choose Route One or Two, and handle waiting, reconnects and 18+ rooms.
MCA Plus uses "collection" to receive gifts, comments, likes and other messages from your live room. Scoring and widgets all depend on it. This page explains how to connect the app to your room.
Add a live room
- Click the room pill at the far left of the bottom bar (it shows — when you have no room yet) to open My Live Rooms.
- Click Add New Room and type the anchor's TikTok username (the part after @), or paste a profile or LIVE link that contains @username. Title (Optional) can be left empty; the anchor's nickname is used instead.
- Click Save. The app looks up the TikTok account and shows Confirm Room Info. Check the avatar and nickname, then click Save again.
- If you see TikTok Info Fetch Failed, check the username, then click Retry. If you're sure it's right, you can click Continue Adding to save anyway.
Each account can have up to 3 live rooms. If you have no current room yet, the new room becomes the current room automatically.
Mode setups are saved per live room. When you switch to another room, you see that room's own setups.
Switch, edit and delete rooms
In My Live Rooms, the current room is marked Current. For other rooms you can click Switch, or edit or delete them.
If the current room is collecting, switching shows This room is still collecting; clicking End collection and switch stops collection and also ends any session in progress. When deleting, the confirm button reads End collection and delete, and collection is stopped first as well.
Start and stop collection
The button on the right of the bottom bar changes with the status:
| Button | When it shows | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Start Collecting | Not collecting yet, disconnected, or after an error | Connects to the live room on the current route |
| Cancel | While connecting | Gives up this connection attempt |
| Stop | Waiting for live, connected, reconnecting | While waiting, stops right away; when connected or reconnecting, asks Disconnect collection? first |
Clicking Disconnect in Disconnect collection? also ends the active round and gameplay. If you only want to switch routes or reconnect during a LIVE, use the route menu below instead of stopping collection.
Collection status in the bottom bar
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Status: Not Connected | Collection hasn't started |
| Status: Connecting | Connecting to the live room |
| Status: Waiting for live | The anchor isn't live yet; the app connects automatically once they go live |
| Status: Live status unknown | The live status can't be found; see Waiting for the LIVE |
| Status: Connected | Receiving live messages; the timer next to it shows how long this connection has lasted |
| Status: Reconnecting | The connection dropped and the app is reconnecting automatically |
| Status: Error | Something went wrong; click Start Collecting again |
| Status: Disconnected | Collection has stopped |
| Status: Server unreachable | Live messages are still being collected but can't reach the server; see Server unreachable |
The two collection routes
Click the route name next to the status (Route One or Route Two) to open the route menu.
| Route | Description in the menu | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Route One | Silent Mode | Reads LIVE data in the background, no extra window |
| Route Two | Browser Popup | Opens a browser window that reads the LIVE data while collecting; keep this window open |
Route Two is the default. How to choose:
- Use Route Two in most cases.
- If Route Two can't connect because of a captcha, a login prompt or a network problem, switch to Route One.
- 18+ rooms on Route Two need a TikTok account aged 18 or over logged in to the collection window. If you'd rather not log in, switch to Route One.
- If Route One says Can't get the live status, switch to Route Two.
Switching routes while not collecting takes effect the next time you start collecting. Switching while collecting asks for confirmation, then reconnects on the new route; the active round and gameplay are not affected. While collecting on Route Two, the menu also has a Reconnect current route button next to the current route, which reconnects without stopping collection.
Network Route (Primary / Backup) in Settings is how the app reaches the MCA Plus server. It is not the same thing as the collection route.
The Route Two collection window
- The window title is "@username · LIVE", and its sound is muted automatically.
- You can minimize it, but don't close it. If you click its close button, the app brings the main window to the front: while connecting or waiting for the LIVE, collection is simply cancelled; once connected, you get Disconnect collection? to decide.
- You normally don't need to log in to TikTok in the collection window, except for 18+ rooms.
- If a captcha or login prompt appears, a banner at the top of the main screen says Check the TikTok page in the collection window; handle captcha or login issues manually. Click Open collection window and deal with it yourself. For captchas, the collection window also jumps to the front by itself.
- 18+ rooms provide no LIVE data until you log in, and the banner says This LIVE is 18+ only. Log in to a TikTok account aged 18 or over in the collection window, or switch to Route One. If nobody logs in within about 10 minutes, this attempt stops and is not retried. Log in and click Start Collecting again, or switch to Route One.
- If it fails to connect, you'll see The collection window couldn't connect to the live room. Start collection again, or switch to Route One.
Waiting for the LIVE
You can click Start Collecting before the anchor goes live. The status changes to Status: Waiting for live and you'll see Collection starts automatically once the anchor goes live. To stop waiting, click Stop.
If the live status can't be found for a long time, the status changes to Status: Live status unknown. On Route One you'll see If the anchor is already live, try switching to Route Two. On Route Two it usually means the collection window can't open the LIVE page; start collection again, or switch to Route One.
Disconnects, reconnects and ending the LIVE
- If the connection drops because of a network hiccup, the app reconnects automatically and the bar shows Status: Reconnecting.
- If several automatic reconnects fail, you'll see Collection disconnected. Click Reconnect; the current round is not affected.
- While a session is still in progress and collection is left disconnected, the app also tries to reconnect in the background every 2 minutes. It doesn't do this after you stop collection yourself.
- When the anchor ends the LIVE, collection disconnects and the session (including any round in progress) ends automatically.
Server unreachable
Collection has two legs: the app receives live messages from TikTok, then sends the data to the MCA Plus server. If the second leg stays down for more than about 10 seconds, the bottom bar shows Status: Server unreachable. Hover over it for details: live messages are still being collected, but cloud widgets and Reports won't get new gifts for now.
Check your computer's network. Once the connection is back, the app reconnects automatically and uploads the gifts received while it was down.
